We specialise in safe and effective wasp removal across Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. With a legacy of 30 years of family experience, our certified technicians are trusted by homeowners and businesses alike to handle wasps nests quickly and professionally.
Wasps, particularly the Common wasp, Median wasp and the German wasp, can pose a threat to public health and safety, especially in late summer when their colonies are at their peak aggression. DIY attempts to treat wasp nests are strongly discouraged due to the aggressive nature of these insects. Wasps will sting multiple times and can cause severe allergic reactions in some individuals.
Call to speak to our wasp experts for our expert advice, without obligation.
We will visit your property to begin treatment, which involves the safe use of insecticidal dust or spray and specialist lances. Visible activity will normally cease within 12 hours of treatment.
We will always survey all buildings to identify if any other nests are active to save further callouts.
The most common UK wasp species are the common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) and the German wasp (Vespula germanica). Both build large, paper-like nests and can become aggressive, especially towards the end of summer.
Wasp season typically begins in April and finishes in September. A wasp colony is primarily active during the summer months between June and August, with up to a 1000 virgin queens exiting a nest in the first two weeks of autumn. These virgins queens will mate and then hibernate over winter and emerge in the following spring.
Wasps are resilient and do not need a specific environment to successfully build their nest. It will typically be in a roof, shrub or shed. Care should be taken when cutting hedges and shrubs as the nests are often concealed until it’s too late. Wasp nests in hedges and the ground react with very high levels of aggression when threatened.
While wasps play a role in pest control and pollination, nests close to people can pose serious risks—especially to children, pets, and anyone with a wasp sting allergy. Wasps are aggressive when disturbed and DIY treatment not something that should be underestimated. Professional treatment ensures safety and peace of mind using the right equipment for a successful and safe outcome.
Our trained technicians use specialist insecticidal dusts and sprays, often with long-reach lances that avoid the need for ladders or scaffolding. Visible wasp activity usually ceases within 12 hours of treatment, and we always check the entire property to spot any additional nests during a visit.
Look out for high wasp activity in a specific area, especially around rooflines, air bricks, sheds, or holes in the ground. You might also hear a buzzing sound or see wasps entering and exiting the same spot frequently.
Yes, wasps can become very aggressive when their nest is threatened and will sting multiple times. DIY removal is risky and can lead to stings or allergic reactions. It's always safer to call a professional.
Our fast-acting treatment typically stops all visible wasp activity within 12 hours.
Once a nest is treated, the colony will not return to it. However, new queens may form nests elsewhere the following season. If you notice new activity, it could be a different nest that needs attention.
