We specialise in safe and effective rat control and removal services across Berkshire, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. With over 30 years of experience, our certified technicians are trusted by homeowners and businesses alike to remove rats quickly and professionally.
Our experts are available 24/7 to offer professional advice without obligation. We will talk through the issue you're experiencing and just require a few details to make a booking to attend your property as a priority.
We attend and complete a comprehensive survey, discuss our observations and make recommendations to gain full control and eradication. Our surveys are detailed and not restricted to any time limit.
We will implement a bespoke control programme when the survey is completed and install temporary proofing if required. Normally 2-3 follow up visits are required to ensure complete eradication has been achieved. We can also complete any small building work required to ensure any entry points are permanently proofed to stop uninvited guests returning.
The most common types of rats in the UK are the brown rat and the black rat - which have different behaviours, habitats and appearance.
Rats are commonplace and frequently a problem, particularly in the autumn and winter.
Rats are commonly found in floors, wall cavities, lofts, gardens, garages and outbuildings, farmland, commercial premises and storage areas.
An integrated pest management programme is strongly recommended. Wherever rats have gained access to home or commercial property, trapping is preferable. The odour of a poisoned rat under a floor or stuck in a cavity can be so unpleasant the property becomes uninhabitable. Trapping rats requires behavioural knowledge and is not just a process of setting traps with bait. Rats are wary of anything new. They are not easily trapped without the benefit of a good few years of knowledge. Poisons are also very effective and we do use them in them when suitable. The use of rodenticides requires risk management and method planning, with specific consideration given to non-targeted and secondary poisoning. Please call us, without obligation to discuss a treatment programme and provide the best advice on rat control and prevention.
Rats are transmitters of several pathogens in their urine and faeces that can affect humans. In rare cases this can be fatal. Any open cuts or abrasions should be protected if rats are known to present. If you have observed or heard rats, we recommend making contact with us.
Resistance to rodenticides is widespread in south-east England. This means poisons that are available from retailers are unlikely to work and may only make rodent control worse by providing nothing more than a food source. Additionally, environmental factors that should be considered to ensure non-targeted poisoning does not occur. We are members of CRRU and wholly support strict adherence to rodenticide use. *88% of Barn owls had rodenticide residues present in their tissues during the last study completed in 2020.

The best advice is to remove all food sources, commonly this includes dropped bird food, food waste on compost heaps, pet food in outbuildings, stored ambient food products and broken bins.
We regularly provide pest management and consultancy services to commercial organisations and implement managed service agreements to provide proactive control, monitoring and reporting.
